Mediterranean Villa

Both storied and contemporary, this 1930s Mediterranean-inspired family home is an exercise in playful sophistication that’s as lush as it is livable. Situated in Miami’s Coconut Grove neighborhood, the home’s interior character is one comprising countless past lives with details that recall both old European farmhouses and Italian villas in surprising harmony. Finding poetry in patina, well-worn furnishings and weathered objects offer an evocative sense of place while subtle details of modernity propel the home’s aesthetic forward, inviting life in at every angle. In conversation with Tim McKeough we discussed the home’s design for The New York Times.
